Social Media New Features – January 2018

We can’t believe that January has already come and gone! Who else had a great first month of 2018? As always, we’re here to give you all the new social media features added to our favorite platforms:

Facebook

  • Facebook isn’t giving up on their Stories feature. You can now post to Facebook Stories from your desktop.
  • Facebook officially announced major changes to their algorithm that strive to make your family and friends content priority. This big change is forcing businesses to restrategize their social media marketing plans in order to get their content seen.   • The latest update to Facebook’s algorithm is to prioritize trusted local news sources in users feeds. In Mark Zuckerberg’s post about the new update, he states, “We’re making a series of updates to show more high quality, trusted news.”

Social Media New Features – December 2017

Another month (and year) comes to a close. Check out some of the biggest updates and changes we saw on our favorite social media platforms this past December:

Facebook

  • Facebook has launched a Snooze button that allows users to “snooze” a person, Page, or group for 30 days.
  • Facebook Messenger got an update this month where users can now import their Instagram contacts to Messenger. This allows the two platforms to be even more intertwined and helps with efforts of cross-promoting.

Social Media New Features – November 2017

Another month goes by, and more updates are added to our favorite social platforms. We are here to make sure you stay up to date on all the new features so that your business can excel and stay current on social media!

Facebook

  • Facebook has been upping their Messenger game, and now have announced a new plugin feature that will add Facebook Messenger to your business’s website! While on your website, customers will be able to send you a direct message that will show up in you Messenger mailbox. Currently, the feature is in closed beta, but we are really excited for this feature to be released to the public!
  • Creators, rejoice! Facebook has launched their new Creator app that is intended to help build communities around influencer’s video content. Within the app, creators can customize their live videos with stickers, have a unified mailbox, have access to stories, and access analytics. The Creator app is a centralized place for all of you content creators out there! Read more here!
  • Facebook has launched collaborative Stories for groups and events. This is a great feature for businesses to utilize! During an event, all team members and guests can post to a collaborative story, making the story more dynamic for viewers. Group Stories are moderated by Admins.

Social Media New Features – October 2017

Social media is updating constantly. It is easy to feel out of the loop with all the new features that are added regularly. But not to worry! We have rounded up the top updates to social media platforms in the last month:

Instagram

  • Instagram Stories rolled out a new feature that makes them more interactive! The new customizable Poll Stickers can be added to stories from the sticker section. This is a great opportunity for businesses to ask their customers questions and get real answers!
  • Stories also added some smaller features, like an alignment tool (hello, perfectionists 👋 ) and an eyedropper tool so that you can take colors from your images for your text or drawings.
